In recent years, our country’s economy is developing with high speed and the number of vehicles is increasing rapidly, meanwhile, the phenomena of traffic jams, vehicle dispersion, robbing and stealing are serious. How to realize the effective direction, coordination, management of each kind of vehicles and guarantee its security has already become an important question which the traffic and security departments are faced with. The key to solving the problem is establishing a system which is used for the vehicle monitoring and dispatching with the functions of positioning, tracking, dispatching and pronunciation. Especially the public transport, logistics and taxi industry are eager to seek a vehicle management system with complete functions, low cost and easy operation. Thus it has the significant practical meaning to carry on the research and the development of the vehicle monitoring and dispatching system.Based on the requirement of taxi monitoring and dispatching system, a novel design is adopted after reference to the monitoring and dispatching system which is very popular currently in this thesis. It’s a creative design that the passage applies the Wireless Local Area Networks into the taxi monitoring and dispatching system. WIFI has the features of quick transformation and low price. This system covers a wide range, which is easy to build and enlarge. It achieved the way of communication by connecting WIFI with wired network. The whole system needs only one WIFI standard and a set of equipment to have the two functions of double correspondence and exact positioning.The problem with the actual vehicle monitoring and dispatching system is analyzed in this thesis. Then it comes up with a new WIFI plan, aimed to solve the problem and further proves the possibility. The whole system mainly consists of vehicle mobile end, the monitoring center and the correspondence web. The vehicle mobile end is WIFI mobile phone, which provides the positioning information and transfers the audio signal. The monitoring center is the operation platform to tell the position of the vehicle and look for the information. It’s made up of the electric map conductive software and audio software. The specific show of the electric map is useful to conduct the vehicle and provides the visual base. It realizes the communication of WIFI into the Internet. A test system in the lab is built, introducing the process of the building, the choosing of the hardware and the design of software. In the end, the system is improved in four ways from test to practice.In this thesis, an experiment is carried out to test the functions that the system needs to achieve. The result shows system can completely achieve the aim of monitoring, tracking, dispatching and conducting, and also provide a chance to increase and improve the functions. Based on WIFI, the taxi monitoring and dispatching system can be applied in management of logistics, projection vehicle, police vehicle and private vehicle etc. It also produces an effective solution for enhancing the vehicle management and defending the vehicle against robbing and stealing.
